In 1957, Harold Moorefield established Moorefield Construction and specialized in framing, concrete work, and more importantly, general contracting.
However, in 1982, Harold Moorefield passed away, leaving his wife, Ann, to take over the company’s leadership. Despite facing the challenges of leading a male-dominated industry, Ann refused to be held back and pushed through, becoming a leader in the construction industry. Ann received numerous awards and accolades for her leadership and integrity, including Ernst and Young’s ‘‘Entrepreneur of the Year,’’ Top 500 Working Woman, and ENR’s Top Lists. Although Ann has recently joined her husband, Harold, in heaven, her fighting spirit is still with the company.
Fortunately, Harold and Ann had raised their sons with the business legacy in mind, and they received extensive hands-on experience throughout their childhood. In 1990, Moorefield Construction expanded its operations to include an office in Sacramento, serving clients in the surrounding northern region.
The company continues to strengthen its relationships with clients, add quality projects to its portfolio, and has been in business for over 66 years, making it a well-respected and established construction company in the industry.
