Moondog Labs was founded to develop exciting new tools for a passionate community of creative filmmakers and photographers searching for a unique charm that’s missing from many pristine modern digital cameras and lenses. We employ modern optical design tools to create new lenses with vintage character or creative new features for this community. We have decades of experience in optical design for mobile imaging, photography, motion capture, projection systems and displays. Our first product launched on Kickstarter in November 2013, and since then we've been on the forefront of the mobile filmmaking movement. Moondog Labs is proud to be based in Rochester, NY, the home of innovation in optics, photography, and filmmaking since the 1800’s.
