The company handles standard and custom parts, modifications, playing, special coating, galvanizing, assemblies, and special packaging. Mobile Fasteners has a knowledgeable staff of dedicated workers, and a reputation known for excellent customer service. Mobile Fasteners began in January 1964, in the single car garage of the residence of H.F. “Buddy” Beaman who was selling fasteners out of a van to the local sheet metal industry. By 1966, the business set up in a small frame building at 526 Indiana, in South Houston. In January 1970, with only two employees, the business moved to its present location at 1415 Washington Avenue in South Houston. In 1971, the business acquired Pac Fas, one of its vendors, which specialized in providing packaged fasteners to distributors, suppliers, and hardware and lumber accounts. Two separate businesses were operated until 1974, when Big H Corporation was formed to combine the operations and eliminate duplication. Today, the business occupies five buildings spanning two city blocks, totaling 82,000 square feet, and has sixty full-time employees. It serves a customer base of approximately two thousand in Texas and surrounding states.
