Mobiata was founded in 2008 when founder and President Ben Kazez had an aha! moment while fumbling for various travel documents in the Minneapolis airport. He realized that there should be a mobile app to handle everything he needed while traveling. He set to work and launched FlightTrack for the iPhone in November 2008 and within days it was the best-selling travel app. FlightTrack has remained one of the highest revenue generating travel apps to this day. Since then, we’ve launched a series of apps across a variety of platforms.
Mobiata was acquired by Expedia, Inc. in 2010 and serves as their app development arm to create amazing travel experiences on all emerging platforms. We still develop and iterate on Mobiata apps as well.
We believe our success comes from a combination of working extraordinarily hard, being meticulous about design, focusing on user experience and making sure that every one of our products is an indispensable tool for travelers. We take exceptional pride in our products and we think it shows. We’re still growing, tinkering and improving every day. And having a great time.
We’ve had some wonderful accolades and our applications have been featured by the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, Forbes, Washington Post, TechCrunch, USA Today, Macworld, PC Magazine and in Apple TV and print ads.
Our headquarters are in the amazing Nickels Arcade complex in Ann Arbor, MI. We also have offices in San Francisco and Minneapolis.
