E-mobility is the promise of a more sustainable and efficient way of transportation, and E-bikes, especially, gradually change our very experience of daily commutes.
However, e-Bikes have yet to reach their full potential, and it is obvious that there is a lot of room for improvement
Driven by the opportunity to further improve on this technology, two students from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) decided to take action and embarked on a journey which finally led to MoThor in late 2020, and its first product being developed:
A modular battery system, designed to have its elements stay in circulation for as long as possible, making life easier for the manufacturer while drastically reducing its impact on the environment. Convenient access to the different components ensures easy repairability and separation of defectives components. This gives the opportunity to greatly increase the lifespan of the battery and to properly dispose of it when it comes to it. With even more unique features on their way, the Mothor Battery pack promises to bring more options to user and manufucturer.
With seven members already, MoThor has gained its first momentum in a rapidly growing market but there still is a lot of work to be done to reach our goal to have every E-Bike powered by a battery pack that is truly part of a circular economy.
