Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (Mdm)

Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung GmbH (#MDM) awards funding to promising film and media projects realised in the German federal states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. MDM has supported numerous international co-productions. In 2021, it expanded its activities with #MEDIAstart: a program supporting media #startups that were founded within the last three years and have their permanent head office in the region of #Mitteldeutschland. Each year up to 10 companies are selected for #MEDIAstart. They receive financial support, tailor-made education and mentoring in order to successfully establish themselves on the market. The program aims at companies that are working in the field of traditional audiovisual media or in the new media sector (VR, AR, video games, apps, web series) as well as companies that supply services for audiovisual media or new media.
