Ministry Of National Health Services, Regulations And Coordination

The Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination was formed at the federal-level with a renewed mandate in 2012. It replaced the Ministry of Health after the devolution of healthcare to provinces under the 18th Amendment passed in 2011. The Ministry is responsible for the following key areas: 1) international coordination in the realm of public healthcare, including ensuring that Pakistan meets international healthcare regulations and standards 2) national coordination between healthcare departments across all federating units including information sharing, capacity-building, resource-allocation and emergency preparedness 3) oversight of health regulatory bodies such as DRAP/ 4) directly run preventative programs for TB, Malaria and HIV among others Key leadership of the Ministry as of now is:- Dr. Faisal Sultan - Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health with status of Federal Minister Mr. Aamir Ashraf Khawaja - Secretary Dr. Rana Safdar - Director General
