Middle Atlantic Swimming, Inc. (MASI) is one of the fifty-nine USA Swimming Local Swimming Committees (LSC) and is the local level of USA Swimming – the National Governing Body for the sport of Swimming and an extension of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
As a separate entity, MASI is the local administrative organization responsible for the registration, support and governance of the USA Swimming member clubs in the designated region (The portion of the State of New Jersey south of Mercer and Monmouth Counties; the State of Delaware; and that portion of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania east of and including the counties of Potter, Clinton, Centre, Huntingdon and Bedford).
MASI sanctions swimming competitions within LSC boundaries. A sanction from MASI allows the meet to be run under USA Swimming rules. MASI is responsible for enforcing these rules at the meet. MASI does this by training officials for meets – adult volunteers – the technical swimming rules for USA Swimming.
