For 25 years Mid Essex ITT has successfully trained over 500 teachers. We are looking for ambitious trainee teachers who are passionate about their subject and have a desire to share that with young people of all abilities.
Mid Essex is a school-based Initial Teacher Training scheme, offering a one year, full-time course. Many trainees on our fee-paying courses are eligible for a bursary or scholarship of up to £30,000. We also offer salaried courses too. We will train you to teach at a local, secondary school in Essex for four days of the week - for the fifth day, you will attend training at our central offices. After successfully completing the course, you will be awarded QTS and a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (ProfGCE), accredited by the University of Greenwich.
Mid Essex ITT is unique in that all our training is run by experienced, practising teachers. We have a small, friendly team of staff who get to know all our trainee teachers well and are able to offer personalised support on a weekly basis. We are based at Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form and have links with over 20 secondary schools around Essex.
Teaching is a career for achievers, and an excellent opportunity to get young people inspired in a subject that you love. Not only will you help young people realise their ambitions, but you will go home each day knowing that you have made a difference. Good teachers are in demand and teaching has excellent employment prospects. Mid-Essex has a near 100% employment rate.
