The Māia Health Foundation, established in May 2016, is a charitable trust dedicated to enhancing health services in Canterbury and the wider South Island. As the official charity partner of Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury, Māia strives to make a significant impact by elevating health services from #goodtogreat.
With a track record of raising over $10 million, Māia has successfully contributed to various projects. These include the construction of a state-of-the-art rooftop helipad and clinical support unit at Waipapa Christchurch Hospital, improvements to children's facilities, such as parent beds in every child's room and an indoor play area, and the refurbishment of the Burwood Spinal Unit. Currently, the focus is on fundraising for a child and youth mental health outpatient facility, Kahurangi.
For those interested in learning more about Māia and getting involved, please contact Rachel Scott, the General Manager – Marketing and Partnerships, at rachel.scott@maiahealth.org.nz
