Meridian Enterprises Private Limited Meridian Enterprises Private Limited started business in 1992 with only one activity i.e. contract manufacturing of three high technology tablet products for Parke - Davis (I) Ltd on trade mark assignment basis with Warner Lambert (USA). To meet the huge immediate production requirements, Meridian took an existing formulations plant on lease at Udhana (Surat), Gujarat and was able to meet the demand quickly. To substantially improve the quality of its manufacturing facility, Meridian undertook a project to build its own factory on a vacant plot at GIDC at Navsari, Gujarat. This new factory was commissioned in April, 1994 and production shifted there from the unit at Udhana. The main objective of establishing Meridian was to launch a range of innovative healthcare products to satisfy an unfulfilled need among patients in India. To embark upon this objective, Meridian acquired two innovative products from L.J.Hallen & Co. in 1994 and in the following year also developed three of its own products; these five products were marketed by a small team of 15 Medical Representatives in Mumbai city. With these humble beginnings, Meridian began its foray into ethical marketing of formulations. In the years that followed Meridian keenly pursued its main objective by launching more unique products which had an ever growing acceptance by leading physicians and doctors throughout an increasing geographic area. In addition to developing its marketing operations, over the years Meridian has also substantially improved its contract manufacturing capabilities by upgrading the manufacturing facility. As a result, in addition to its first customer, Parke Davis (now Pfizer) which continues even today, the company has extended its contract manufacturing services to such reputed customers like Cadila, Cipla, Glenmark, etc. During recent years, Meridian has also added a third business activity that of exporting its high quality and economical formulations to overseas buyers in countries worldwide including such quality conscious markets such as Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, Ukraine, Mozambique, Angola, etc. Meridian has become a leading exporter of a range of suppositories to overseas markets having exported a number of suppository and pessary products in high volumes directly and through local export houses.
