The Meijers Committee is an independent group of experts in the field of European criminal, migration, refugee, privacy, non-discrimination and constitutional law.
The Committee promotes transparent and democratic decision-making, respect for human rights and access to a judge in the European cooperation in the field of justice, migration and security.
The Meijers Committee does this by providing politicians, policy makers, and the broader public with a scholarly assessment of the impact on human rights and democracy of new European legislative proposals in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice.
The Committee is composed of law professors and researchers, judges and attorneys with expertise in different European legal topics. The Committee is financially supported by a number of civil society organizations.
