Maynard & Associates Wealth Management is an independent wealth management firm that focuses on investment management, Social Security and retirement income planning, and long-term care and life insurance strategies. Born and raised in Winston-Salem, David earned his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, his master’s in broadcast journalism from the University of Missouri, and his MBA from Vanderbilt University. David has built a successful career in the financial services industry as both a financial advisor at various firms and as manager of the brokerage and Trust areas at Southern Community Bank and Trust. His experience has been called upon to address peers at conferences; His knowledge has been sought by reporters writing stories for adviser driven magazines as well as such public publications as The Triad Business Journal and American Banker Association Magazine. Before entering the financial services industry, David was an accomplished television reporter, working in markets from Columbia, Missouri to Wilmington, NC to Winston-Salem, NC to Nashville, TN. During his 10 years as a journalist, his work appeared in those local markets, as well as national networks such as CNN. David and his wife, Stephanie, live in Winston-Salem. David enjoys spending his free time with his wife and their two children.
