Mascoma, as one of Lallemand’s research and development centers, creates new industrial biotechnology products for the global marketplace that enable the efficient and sustainable production of fuels, feed, and food. We are a semi-independent group leveraging the newest tools and technologies along with Lallemand’s hundred-year track record producing and marketing yeast, bacteria and specialty ingredients. We apply the tools of synthetic biology, metabolic engineering, analytical chemistry, protein engineering, bioinformatics, fermentation science, and microbiology along with a deep understanding of commercial processes driven by microbes to create new products.
