Masa Group's mission is to secure progressive, just, and bold immigration policies at the state, local, and national levels on behalf of immigrant rights organizations. Masa Group is a social entrepreneurship and as such, we only collaborate and service clients that support pro-immigrant views and policies. We firmly believe that immigrants are an essential part of the fabric of our nation. Our campaigns, government relations, lobbying, and related work are dedicated to enhancing the lives of and supporting immigrants and their communities. As a social justice consulting firm, we provide an extra pair of hands for organizations seeking to bring about meaningful improvements to our nation’s immigration policies. We offer services on a short-term, interim, and long-term basis. Masa Group’s previous and current collaborations include a variety of state, local, and national immigration partners, including the ACLU, Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC), CASA, American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), NALEO Educational Fund, Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC), Oxfam America, United We Dream, and others.
Masa Group prioritizes diversity in hiring and especially welcomes women, LGBTQ+ folks, people of color, and immigrants—including DACA recipients. Our team consists of talented individuals with decades of immigration policy experience and of varied backgrounds, and we are led by a DACAmented, queer person of color.
Masa Group was founded in 2017 by Jose Magaña-Salgado. Before launching Masa Group, Jose worked with the MALDEF and ILRC in the nonprofit immigration advocacy space. His time working for nonprofits inspired him to create a social entrepreneurship combining the efficiencies of private sector consulting with the passion and desire for change found in nonprofits.
