Manaaki Kaimai Mamaku Trust was created after a decade of the Kaimai Mamaku Forum's stakeholder engagement over concern for the health of the Kaimai Mamaku forests and catchments.
The recipient of Jobs For Nature funding, the Trust is now entrusted with the mission of restoring the mauri of the Kaimai Mamaku. This is the challenge of a lifetime, a project of deep cultural and community significance!
We will achieve this through shared knowledge and collective action of iwi-hapū led projects, communities, conservation and care groups, businesses, and landowners.
Biodiversity decline and climate change are inextricably linked so we need to find enduring solutions to forest and catchment restoration. And those solutions will involve all of us... he waka eke noa.
