His entrepreneurial spirit and relentless pursuit of exceeding expectations led Henry Maksoud to erect, in one of the largest cities in the world, an iconic building that has become a reference and synonymous with hospitality for the past four decades. In a unique place, he gathered talents from different backgrounds and cultures, all passionate about hospitality and about meeting the daily challenges of hosting, serving and making the hotel ‘a home away from home’. Henry Maksoud, however, would not stop at simply doing it better. He pursued excellence in everything: from laundry to housekeeping, from the bar to the heliport, from the parking lot to the restaurant. Domestic and international travelers shared the common desire to go beyond expectations, in a time when brand experience was not yet a concern. It was the inauguration, almost 40 years ago, of Maksoud Plaza. Yesterday, today and tomorrow, unanimous among generations, each with a tale and great memories to convey to friends and family. We believe the spirit of the founder keeps moving us all, day after day, in the pursuit of perpetuating the Maksoud name and legacy.
