We are a registered charity with the following purposes:
1. To advance in life and help young people through:
(a) The provision of recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life;
(b) Providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.
2. To advance the education of the public in media skills and film-making.
3 The promotion of equality and diversity for the public benefit by the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
We do this by creating projects with employability and community cohesion outcomes. Our work involves delivering workshops, organising screening events and broadcasting content online.
To date we have helped over 500 local community members to unlock their potential through film-making and online TV production projects. We offer young people a space to create and a platform to be discovered on our website with attracts on average 10,000 unique hits a month.
We’ve successfully completed an employability project targeted at young Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) individuals in and around Southall who are not in education, employment or training (NEET). Participants have used the work created as a video CV of their achievements. This enabled them to gain a stepping stone into a career in the creative industries by applying for relevant further education or employment opportunities. This will be repeated next year.
Participant’s work has also been screened in quarterly exhibitions where up to 100 local people come together to celebrate achievements and provide valuable feedback through exit polls. The resulting interactions both online and in person have lead to increased understanding between disparate groups within the local area.
