M&G Africa was launched on May 8 2014 as one of Africa's most ambitious digital Pan-African news publications. It brings deeper understanding to Africa’s possibilities and difficulties today, challenges conventional views, explores the future of the continent, and use new tools to give voice to perspectives that both Afro-optimists and Afro-pessimists don’t want you to hear.
It is edited by Ugandan editor Charles Onyango-Obbo.Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, M&G Africa is published by M&G Media, South Africa, which is 77.69% owned by Zimbabwean publisher and entrepreneur Trevor Ncube. A 10% share each is held by the M&G Staff Share Trust and Media Development Investment Fund and the remaining 2.31% in shares is attributed to other minorities.
