Maiden Erlegh Institute

Maiden Erlegh Institute is based at the 'Outstanding' rated Maiden Erlegh School in Berkshire. We provide excellent high quality training to new and current teachers. We collaborate with a variety of schools and organisations to learn together, to ensure the nurturing of the next generation of learners, teachers and leaders. Our aim is to improve the quality of teaching and leadership and support other schools to share best practice. For many years we have successfully worked in partnership with the University of Reading to train both university PGCE trainees and School Direct trainees. From September 2021 onwards, we have been given the privilege of collaborating with the newly designated Teaching School Hub Berkshire to co-deliver Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and Early Career Teacher (ECT) training and development programmes for Reading and Bracknell Forest Secondary Schools. This collaboration will allow us to be part of a comprehensive strategy dedicated to raising teacher and school leader standards by focusing on quality and effective delivery models and by supporting colleagues throughout their careers.
