Macenta looks to the future. We started out in 2006, and we continue to work with the world’s best-known brands in digital learning solutions. But what we really wanted was to produce local publishing at international standards for Turkish needs. In 2010, the dream became reality when we published Minigon, a story-based ELT skills programme for kindergarten. Minigon made a big splash with its great illustrations by Erdil Yaşaroğlu and songs performed by Yaşar, Demet Sağıroğlu, Kenan Vural and Yıldız Asyalı. Eight years later, Minigon is still being used in schools that started with it in 2010, and it continues to be adopted by new institutions each year. That was our first publishing project and we have never looked back.
In 2015, the DEPP project was born. DEPP stands for the “Designing English Practice Programme”, and that’s exactly what we did. In consultation with individual institutions, we began to design English language practice materials that are in line with the needs and curriculum of each school. In the first year of DEPP, we worked with a team of 25 qualified and experienced Turkish and international educators, graphic designers, editors and proof-readers. By the end of 2016, this team had grown to include 145 people. We are currently working with dozens of institutions all over Turkey and nearly 200,000 English language learners are using DEPP practice materials. We also work with a team of experienced teacher trainers, who provide workshops based on a needs analysis of your ELT department. We offer coaching for school leaders, and support for curriculum design.
At Macenta, our aim is to be a solutions partner for institutions, teachers, students and parents. We want to know what your school needs, how you market yourselves, what your curriculum is, and your educational philosophy. When we know these things, we are committed to providing your school with the right learning materials to support your learners, your teachers and your vision.
