Maclean & Speirs was founded in 1930 and since then we have been providing painting services to a wide and varied range of clients and projects. Over the years we have embraced new materials, new technology and developed new skills to meet the challenges of our clients and their project needs in the 21st century. We guide and manage project work from hotels to hospitals, bridges coatings, building fireproofing, decorative finishes, office and commercial use buildings, factory re-fits and dilapidations. Some of our innovative projects like crane refurbishments, visitor centres, climbing walls, road bridges, tunnels and railway structure maintenance are featured here on this site. Heralding from traditional painters in the 1930’s, our skills, business and people have grown. Today we have skilled managers in engineering, quantity surveying, materials knowledge, application methods, health and safety, accounting and site management to lead our trained workforce. Many of our people have had long service with the firm and that is why we have people who can hang specialist papers, apply intricate coatings, prepare and coat railway structures, design and build work access platforms or refurbish an office or factory ready for the next tenant to move in. People make our business and we are constantly training our employees and adding new skill-set's to meet the demands of new materials, project challenges and health and safety working needs. Some projects require a highly visible standard of finish and some are even more exacting by demanding that hidden surfaces have been prepared and coated to give long-term protection, thereby meeting rigorous safety and or weather protection requirements.
