About
A COMPANY OF LARGE NUMBERS
Monge is Italy's most important pet food manufacturer and is listed in the European Top 10 and World Top 25 pet food companies.
Monge was founded by the intuition and entrepreneurial skills of the Monge family, who has been dealing with pet nutrition since 1963. The pet food factory in Monasterolo di Savigliano, in the province of Cuneo, houses all departments: production, analysis, quality control, R&D, logistics, marketing, and management.
The ability to cover all distribution channels and to position itself in all market segments with extraordinary product quality covering all brands has ensured Monge a steady growth over the years.
THE MOST ADVANCED PET FOOD FACILITY IN EUROPE
Monge’s bet in the coming years is to ensure the well-being of dogs and cats with food recipes, feeding them correctly during all life stages and helping their growth with tasty, healthy, and genuine nutrition. In order to achieve this goal, in 2013 the company inaugurated the most innovative dry food plant in Europe. Monge headquarters has thus multiplied its capacity of production, covering every segment of the production chain, from the selection of the ingredients, through cooking, up to canning and bagging of products: a new revolution in the Italian pet food. As for the logistics and supply chain area, the new automated storehouse was inaugurated in 2019, with an area of 7,300 square meters, is one of the largest automated storehouses in Italy.
COMMITTED TOWARDS ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND SELF-PRODUCTION
Monge believes and invests in renewable sources. Since 2008, the company started placing photovoltaic panels on the rooftop of its storehouses. In 2014, Monge decided to reach self-sufficiency and developed two gas cogeneration plants which produce the company's need for steam and hot water. Monge self-produces 80% of its electrical and thermal consumption, using sun and methane as energy sources.
