The Macedonian Center for Energy Efficiency (MACEF) is non-for-profit organization providing intellectual, technical and project management support services in the energy and environmental fields both nationally and regionally. We are working on a vision for energy efficiency that helps the country of North Macedonia achieve energy security, environmental sustainability and economic growth. We act as catalyst for country association and inclusion in the Energy Community and the EU via collaboration and active contribution to the energy efficiency, RES and sustainability policies, programs, technologies, investments, and awareness.
MACEF carries out its mission by:
-Conducting in-depth technical and policy analyses, suggesting legislative changes
-Consulting and advising policymakers and governmental entities, business, financial bodies, NGOs, international organizations and other relevant stakeholders
-Energy Efficiency training and energy audits for municipalities, industry and households
-Organizing conferences, workshops, training for energy efficiency professionals, municipal representatives, banks, international organizations as well as NGO sector
-Educating and stimulating to cover energy efficiency policy and technological topics
-Raising awareness for energy efficiency among consumers and businesses through our research, events, projects, initiatives and personal media presence
MACEF was established by leading researchers and practitioners in 2002 in the areas of energy, renewables, minerals, water resources, public education and energy policy analysis. Over the past 17 years Macedonia made significant advancement both at policy and implementation level across all sectors of the economy, however there is still enormous effort to be invested. We are dedicated to help overcome obstacles and accelerate the pace of efficiency gains to help consumers, create jobs, grow the economy, decrease energy poverty, enhance energy security & mitigate climate change.
