Lyric Arts Main Street Stage, located in the heart of historic downtown Anoka, offers a full season of live theater (including musicals, dramas, comedies, and children’s productions) and intimate live music events as part of their “Music in the ‘Burbs” Concert Series.
Formed by Lin Schmidt and Phil Bologna in 1995, Lyric Arts Company of Anoka started out in the Pocket Theatre, a small performance space converted from an old cabinet shop. Lyric Arts outgrew the Pocket Theatre, and opened the Main Street Stage in January of 2001. The Main Street Stage sells approximately 30,000 tickets each year and Lyric Arts presents a full season of programming, as well as theater workshops, school-day matinees, and educational outreach programs.
The mission of Lyric Arts is to enrich lives through meaningful performing arts experiences that ignite the imagination, inspire the spirit, and engage the community.
