The Louisville Sports Commission’s mission is to create a legacy of economic and social vitality through sports.
The LSC annually helps attract, support, and host an average of 75 sports events that generate more than $50 million in economic benefits. These events and activities have a positive economic impact on Louisville, enhance the area’s image as a premier sports destination, promote active lifestyles, improve the quality of life for community members of all ages, and connect local businesses with student-athletes for future job opportunities.
The LSC owns and operates the Paul Hornung Award; the Louisville Corporate Games; the Louisville Sports Commission Cross Country Classic, one of the largest cross country events in the US; the Derby City Cup cyclocross event; SportsFest; and a three-race fall running series comprised of the Urban Bourbon Half Marathon, the Norton Sports Health Great Pumpkin 10K, and the Louisville pure tap® 5K.
