The Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office is responsible for approving new commercial building construction and occupancy plans, conducting building inspections on those new projects and annual building inspections for select occupancies, investigating suspicious and fatal fires, licensing and regulating individuals and companies operating in the life safety and property protection industry, along with the amusement ride and pyrotechnic industries, as well as overseeing the manufactured housing industry across the state, hosting various training and education programs and working to empower the public with fire safety knowledge to avoid becoming a victim of fire in their homes and businesses.
