The Louisiana Museum Foundation was founded in 1981 to preserve, present and promote Louisiana's rich history and culture through the provision of support and services for the museums and collections of the Louisiana State Museum system. While the system is statewide, our work focuses on the Cabildo, Presbytere, New Orleans Jazz Museum at the Old U.S. Mint, Madame John's Legacy, the 1850 House, and the artifacts and countless treasures in the Museum's collections and archives. We also bring history to life and make history happen through events and innovative programming, such as period costume balls, exhibition openings, historic theatrical performances and reenactments, and engaging field trips for members and the public.
