Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service provides a wide ranging safety service to more than 890,000 people living and working within a 2,500 square mile area of the south east of Scotland.
This includes community safety services such as home safety visits and advice on fire safety at work, as well as fire safety inspections for businesses.
We also provide the more visible emergency services such as firefighting and rescues from road traffic collisions. The Service also has specialist crews trained to carry out rescues from water.
Our training centre also provides fire training courses for external clients. These range from basic fire safety awareness in the workplace to specialist emergency response and firefighting.
Our service is delivered through 35 local fire stations within the areas of five Councils. They are the City of Edinburgh, West Lothian, East Lothian, Midlothian and the Scottish Borders. Our administrative Headquarters are in the heart of Edinburgh.
