Los Angeles Press Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with over 1,000 member journalists across the Southern California region. Our organization began operating in 1913.
We encourage--and reward--quality journalism through two annual contests: The Southern California Journalism Awards held annually in June, and the National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards held annually in December.
LAPC provides fellowships for early-career journalists, scholarships for student journalists, and grants for important reporting. Details about requirements and deadlines is on our website, lapressclub.org.
We stand up for First Amendment principles, including access to public spaces and public records. If you encounter a problem in the field, email pressrights [at] lapressclub.org.
