The responsibilities of London Probation Trust have been transferred to either the National Probation Service (London Directorate) or the London Community Rehabilitation Company. This change was made from 1 June 2014 as part of the Government's Transforming Rehabilitation programme.
Previously, London Probation Trust (LPT) was responsible for managing over 40,000 offenders at any one given time. LPT was the largest probation trust in the UK, covering the 32 boroughs in the capital and managing approximately 20 per cent of all offenders in the UK.
