the women behind the bottle
Lisa and Kristin were seemingly living their best lives until a brutal wake up call. Lisa suffered for many years from untreated auto-immune conditions such as celiac disease and fibromyalgia, while struggling with anxiety, depression, and addiction. Kristin was diagnosed in her 30’s with a congenital heart condition that required open heart surgery and a long recovery and she, too, was impacted by debilitating anxiety and addiction.
The path to a better quality of life through food was not only a priority, it was a necessity. Lisa and Kristin wanted to help be a part of the solution: give people more choices of delicious, healthy food that will find its way into homes across the country. Together they created Lisa’s 1973 and became fiercely dedicated to sharing organic, sustainably-harvested food with their community. From there, the Lisa’s 1973 mission came alive – to bring a way of living...to everyone.
empowering your choices
Why 1973? Besides Lisa's birth year, this was the year: for women, for the environment, and to end war. It was a year that represented forward-looking change and empowerment. With choice comes power and Lisa’s 1973 believes that you shouldn’t have to compromise taste for healthy,
functional ingredients.
Studies show that eating “real” food contributes to better mental, emotional and physical health.* Yet, Lisa and Kristin were frustrated and disappointed after seeing the lack of choices in the dressing aisle. The only available options were dressings that had an insanely long shelf-life or natural formulas accompanied by unpleasant after-taste. Lisa and Kristin wondered, “Why do we have to sacrifice one or the other?”
Lisa figured that there must be others who were frustrated by the limited options. So born were our dressings! Welcome to Lisa's 1973
