Lincoln Calling is an annual, non-profit music festival focusing on emerging artists and occurring across multiple indoor/outdoor venues in downtown Lincoln, Neb. Lincoln Calling is a week filled with amazing music and local artisans surrounded by community and professional development. Over the course of one week in the fall, Lincoln Calling draws thousands of concertgoers from around the country to catch more than 100 emerging bands in Downtown Lincoln.
In 2017 Lincoln Calling drew more than 8,000 music lovers to downtown Lincoln, including patrons from 75 cites, 25 states, and 3 countries. The festival is committed to being an accessible, affordable and easily navigable exhibition of Nebraska’s diverse arts scene as well to helping Lincoln attract top-flight national talent.
Founded by Nebraska music lover and promoter Jeremy Buckley in 2004, the festival has thrived on featuring bands just before they break, while showcasing a diversity of genres, artist and artistic disciplines along the way. Lincoln Calling is a chance to see Nebraska’s best artists sharing the stage with national acts, which has included Charli XCX, Future Islands, Angel Olsen, Real Estate, Domo Genesis, Cloud Nothings, Beach Fossils, John Moreland, Screaming Females, Ceremony, Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlings, BOY, Ivan & Alyosha, The Hood Internet and Tilly and the Wall among more than 1,000 others. And while Lincoln Calling has varied slightly in length and venue participation in its lifetime, in recent years it’s consistently offered in the vicinity of 100 performances.
