Established in 1988, Lifeline Mid Coast contributes to the National Lifeline 13 11 14 service. As part of the Lifeline network, Lifeline Mid Coast answers over 26,000 callers in crisis every year. Lifeline Mid Coast is a member of the Lifeline network supported by 33 staff and over 400 volunteers.
Lifeline Mid Coast provides a number of suicide prevention and postvention services including Eclipse, a support program for those who have survived suicide attempts; Support After Suicide, a support program for those bereaved and impacted by suicide; Hospital to Recovery, an aftercare program for those leaving hospital after being impacted by thoughts or behaviour connected to suicide; and a range of community presentations and training opportunities.
Lifeline Mid Coast has seven shops selling new and recycled goods that fund the services of Lifeline Mid Coast. Located in Kempsey, Gordon St Port Macquarie, Central Rd Port Macquarie, Wauchope, Taree, Wingham and Forster. Almost 300 volunteers give generously of their time and effort to run the shops and support the vision of Lifeline Mid Coast.
