Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) provides an emergency response service to over one million people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Our purpose is creating Safer People, Safer Places. Everything we do is with that in mind. Key facts about our organisation: • 20 fire stations • a fleet of fire engines and other operational vehicles • 700 staff (580 firefighters) • 8,000 emergency incidents attended each year • 979 square miles coverage • over 420,000 domestic properties • over 45,000 business premises The Service's 20 fire stations are crewed by both Wholetime and On-Call firefighters on a range of duty systems. Alongside our operational crews, we have over 100 staff who work behind-the-scenes in departments such as Workshops, HR, Appliances and Equipment, Corporate Communications, Executive Support, Finance, IT, amongst many more.
