Leadership Ottawa believes that building vibrant, healthy communities is vital to the growth and well-being of all organizations within the National Capital Region. This kind of community is created by business, government and not-for-profit leaders who can motivate people to work together to address complex business and community challenges. Leadership Ottawa’s mission is to broaden the leadership skills and expertise of committed action-oriented individuals by connecting them with the knowledge, tools, experiences and networks they need to strengthen their communities and organizations. The Leadership Ottawa Program is an opportunity for personal growth and a vehicle for creating a better society. Through a combination of experiential learning, community visits, readings, personal reflection and practical engagement over a 9 month period, participants learn what it means to exercise leadership. They come face to face with the reality of the complex social problems facing our region and our communities. Our program involves intensive learning, and unlike traditional curriculum-based MBAs, is very much experiential. Participants develop practical skills that can be used at work, in the community and in their personal lives.
