Lasermet is the laser safety company that designs, manufactures and installs laser safety equipment and systems worldwide. With a heritage going back to the '60's in establishing the international laser safety standards BS EN IEC 60825-1, the company was started in 1987.
Since then it has grown to cover the world producing everything from certified laser safety interlock control systems, laser blocking curtains, screens and roller blinds, laser shutters, to the integrated, modular, rapid-build laser safety cabin - Laser Castle.
These cabins are used by laser processing companies to ensure the safety of personnel outside the cabin. In providing protection from laser radiation generated by multi-kW laser welding robots, the Laser Castles are used as complete integrated laser cells with a choice of automatic doors, guillotine doors, rotating tables with HD-CCTV or "Glaser Jailer" Active Filter Windows.
The complete inside of the cabin can be optionally lined to provide Active Laser Guarding. This patented "Laser Jailer" - Active Guarding System is able to safely switch off the laser if the beam inadvertently hits the internal cabin wall or window.
Lasermet's services as the UKAS Accredited test house for lasers and LEDs include laser classification testing and certification, FDA/CDRH Registration reports enabling laser to be sold into the US and a program of laser safety workshops and laser safety training.
Lasermet also carries out laser safety training at the National Physical Laboratory, (NPL) in London. However, Laser Safety Training is currently carried out live, online.
