Laguna Concert Band

Under the direction of Ed Peterson-Music Director and Peter P. Fournier-Associate Conductor, the Laguna Concert Band and Ensembles- including two 18-piece Swing Bands and a 24 member flute ensemble - have become treasured locally and appreciated throughout Southern California for their entertaining, diverse and professional level performances. Having performed with celebrated guest artist across the performing spectrum from Gene Pokorny, principal tuba for the Chicago Symphony to local Laguna Beach resident Lee Rocker of the “Stray Cats” and Grammy Award winning Producer and Pop Music Icon Peter Asher of famed British Invasion duo “Peter and Gordon” - this award winning concert band has also lent its musical talents to several local film soundtracks and has recorded at famed Capitol Studios in Hollywood, CA. A true gem in the Laguna Beach community for the past fifteen years, the Laguna Concert Band is honored to call the historic Laguna Playhouse its home. Join OUR Band... The Laguna Concert Band currently has positions open in OUR concert band for talented and enthusiastic wind ensemble instrumentalist! We of course are looking for the best amateur players out there but would like any musician with an intermediate to advanced level of playing ability - and the desire and commitment to play in our award winning band - to take advantage of this opportunity! Of greatest need at this time are percussion and clarinet players. The age of our members ranges from 20 to 80 plus! We rehearse every Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Laguna Beach High School band room. The Laguna Concert Band has enjoyed ongoing support from the college administration at the prestigious Irvine Valley College (IVC) and its Emeritus Institute.
