Laboratory of Applied Human Genetics at National Cancer Centre Singapore was conceived in 2013. We are an interdisciplinary lab focused on improving patient outcomes with peritoneal and sarcoma malignancies made possible by the dual-hatting of surgeon-scientists in the Department of Sarcoma, Peritoneal and Rare Tumours (SPRinT), NCCS. Harnessing this advantage, we optimized our approach of solving clinical questions with translational relevance (bench-to-bedside) via multi-sampling of surgically collected samples correcting for intra-tumoral heterogeneity, creation of in vivo mouse models of human samples, and performing downstream assays to develop novel molecular therapeutic strategies. Despite our infancy, we have been awarded numerous national grants and filed for a PCT patent in 2020
