LOVE Takes Root is a 501 (c)3 non-profit charity founded with the philosophy to cultivate the future of children worldwide. As individuals operating in a rural Iowa town and across the United States in various positions (physicians, lawyers, entrepreneurs, pastors, engineers, educators, licensing/marketing professionals, stay-at-home mothers, salesman, agriculturalists, youth, etc.) we aim to provide community-based programs that will improve the lives of children throughout the globe.
LOVE Take’s Root’s mission is to help children around the world who are facing dire circumstances by delivering basic aid, education, and the seeds for a sustainable future.
LOVE Take’s Root's current project is in Jacmel, Haiti where we rebuilt the LaConcorde Orphanage after it was destroyed in the 2010 earthquake. Our project planning for the orphanage has been done in partnership with La Concorde staff, which is being done in three phases.
1. Phase #1: Separate Cottages for boys & girls, dining hall with kitchen, and a staff house (completed in summer 2013)
2. Phase #2: Primary school, administration building with computer lab, and Medical/Dental Clinic (the school and administration building opened in September 2014 for the orphans and children in the Jacmel area, and the medical/dental clinic opened in March 2015)
3. Phase #3: Two additional cottages, playground, and a secondary school (to be completed)
