The LIfBI - Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories studies educational processes from birth to adulthood. As an infrastructure institution, it designs large-scale longitudinal studies on educational issues and makes these data available to the entire scientific community for free. The core of the institute is the German National Educational Panel Study (NEPS). Other major projects in which LIfBi is involved or leading include the refugee study ReGES, the school-related inclusion project Inside, the BRISE study for disadvantaged children and families and the regional study on education in Upper Franconia BiLO. The basis for this is our own research and development work, in particular the well-founded development of instruments and methods for longitudinal educational studies, from which other infrastructure facilities and projects also benefit.
