LGB eSports first saw the light of day late in 2013. The Swedish based team was born in the shadow of the two dominating teams at the time, NIP and Fnatic, but would soon show that they were a force to be reckoned with. At ESL One Katowice 2014 they reached the semi-finals by beating reigning champions Fnatic in a thrilling 16:14 third map. This was the peak performance from the Swedish based team, setting the foundation, making LGB eSports a recognizable name to all eSports fans.
What might not be very known is all the stars that have started their careers under the LGB eSports banner. We are proud to have provided a home to legends Olofmeister, Krimz, Maikelele and Dennis. Even pyth briefly had his time in the team as a ringer. In early 2015 LGB eSports sported a Norwegian lineup where eSports stars Rain, Jkaem and Rubino had the opportunity to evolve as players.
LGB eSports pride ourselves in being an organization nurturing up and coming stars and ideas for the future. Instead of working with an male team, we begun a journey to build a team consisting entirely of female players. In May 2015 they made their debut at DreamHack Tours, followed by DreamHack Summer. Here they convincingly qualified to ESWC Montreal, as one of only 8 female teams, playing the online qualifiers from the LAN area.
The goal is clear, to become the best female team and take a top 10 position in the league of male teams. At the same time we work towards removing boundaries and stereotypes surrounding women in eSports. LGB eSports are striving to be role models for both male and female players, being a team for the future.
