In 1981, an extracurricular space dedicated to (and largely made up of) the students of the electronic engineering career, baptized by them as LABI, began to take shape. This space was presented as an educational environment for the integration of acquired knowledge, developing a teaching modality that promotes horizontal learning, whose basis is the exerience, creativity, commitment and responsibility of the participants.
Thanks to the integrative methodology, and the constant support of the Electronics Department that gave course to our laboratory over time, several Workshops were developed that allowed the students to expand their knowledge outside of the programmatic activities of the career, promoting their interests in electronics to a greater extent.
It is so that today the LABI has a wide schedule of attention in which students can approach to work on computers, use electronic equipment to repeat their practical work or make their own projects, make inquiries on topics of technological learning and subjects to the interns, consult and take books from the specialized library in electronics, which contains more than 3000 copies available to all students.
