Kolibri Kapital

Kolibri Kapital was a Norwegian investment company providing loans to Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) in developing countries. The vision of Kolibri Kapital was to create better living conditions for poor people. Kolibri Kapital provided loans to small and medium sized MFIs in Africa, Asia and Latin America that are well governed and focus on giving loans to poor people in general and women in particular. Through micro loans, people who are cut off from regular bank services get possibilities to develop business and invest in their futures. Micro finance has been recognized as an effective tool for development and an alternative or addition to traditional development aid. Kolibri Kapital’s loan portfolio was financed through the sale of shares in the company with the to provide the shareholders a possibility for a socially responsible investment with a moderate economic profit. Kolibri Kapital was closed in November 2019 as decided by the General Assembly in May 2019.
