Integrated, Interdisciplinary, International
For more than 20 years, KISD – Köln International School of Design has been offering its students a unique project-oriented learning and research environment aimed at strengthening students' individual interests. In the last decade, design has made quite a name for itself as its scope is no longer limited to everyday objects. Social structures, communication processes, and services are also characterized and shaped by design. KISD offers its students the opportunity to create and to explore the complexity of design in a diverse and systematic manner. The name KISD has been synonymous with integrative, interdisciplinary, and international learning, where students are given a great deal of autonomy to design their studies independently.
Our Degree Programs
At KISD, we offer a consecutive Bachelor and Master Degree Program in “Integrated Design“. The degree programs focus on two study areas, combining different design/scientific approaches and design-related disciplines in a flexible structure while systematically expanding interfaces with business, sciences, and research. We also offer a Master Degree Program in “Product Design and Process Development“, which was developed by mechanical and industrial engineers from Gummersbach campus. The program is characterized by its project-oriented, interdisciplinary approach and cooperations with leading industries in this field.
