Kids Makeit Institute

Kids MakeIt Institute is a unique 21st Century educational institution focused on exposing at-risk youth to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) skills and careers. We seek to reinforce meta-cognitive and self-regulatory strategies that promote self-agency and academic achievement. Our mission is to inspire and capture the career and business ambitions of Lexington’s youth, by exposing them to STEAM opportunities that allow them to explore their identity, creativity, and potential. Through our mobile Teen Tech Hubs at community centers, we support student mobility, prosperity, and wellbeing by supplementing traditional STEAM education with afterschool programming strategies that promotes a Growth Mindset through student-led experiential and inquiry-based learning. We aspires to create a place where students from all walks of life can meet and solve problems together. We want our students to see themselves in the world’s innovators and, in-turn, as innovators themselves. We want our students to be able to tackle the problems of the future, today. Their possibilities can be more than just dreams. We can help them become reality!
