Keats Quartet

The Keats Quartet is a versatile ensemble, and has been thriving since its formation in 2011. Based in London, the quartet regularly gives recitals exploring both the rich tradition of popular quartet repertoire and lesser-known works, including at the Norwich Chamber Music Festival, Peterborough Cathedral, Glastonbury Abbey, Wells Cathedral, and in London, Cambridge, Birmingham, and Edinburgh. Keats has also entertained at many prestigious occasions, including a reception for HRH Duke of Edinburgh at the Cutty Sark, a private dinner for the First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff at Admiralty House, and for events at The View From The Shard, Warwick Castle, and on HMS Belfast. The quartet has visited the Scottish Borders on three occasions to play concerts, most recently through the Borders Live Touring Scheme, and through the support of the scheme they will return in July 2015. In April 2015, the quartet travelled to Malta to play for a music festival on the island of Gozo. The quartet is equally happy performing on both ‘modern’ and period instruments, and has worked in collaboration with ensembles such as the Early Music Wells Consort under Matthew Owens and new opera company Black Robin Opera, performing Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas on baroque instruments with both of these, as well as the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge. Keats has received coaching from Ofer Falk, Gina McCormack, members of the Brodsky and Carducci Quartets, and from Michael Bochmann on his residential course in the Cotswolds. Keats can also be found in studio recording for sessions, including backing strings for popular new artist Jake Isaac, disco/funk band VICE Collective, and as section leaders for Michael Waldron’s Pinnacle Ensemble.
