Kashmir Premier League is a registered T20 Cricket league, comprising 7 franchise teams entitled Rawalakot Hawks, Kotli Lions, Mirpur Royals, Muzaffarabad Tigers, Bagh Stallions, Jammu Janbaz, and Overseas Warriors (representing Overseas Chapter).
The inaugural edition of the league was hosted at Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium on 6th August 2021.
This league is an initiative to promote “Kashmir” Globally through cricket diplomacy and to promote local talent. KPL is the first mega cricket event highlighting the importance and talent of Kashmir at the National and International levels. This league is designed to provide the young Cricket talent of AJ&K with a quality platform through which they can exhibit their skills and showcase all around the world as the league was telecasted in Pakistan as well as globally.
KPL has been registered with the Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) as “Kashmir Premier League PVT.LTD.” Sanctioned by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) which is a permanent member of the International Cricket Council, Government of Punjab, and Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir which also ensured their cooperation in this cause. KPL in association with Kashmir Orphans Relief Trust (KORT) launched an assistance campaign for the habitation and support of the orphans in the region as a CSR Project along with the talent hunt drives across Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
