When a child is raised by parents who live together, they are both contributing to the financial and emotional needs of their child/children. When one or both of a child's/children's parents are not living with them, there is a need for the child to continue to be supported both financially and emotionally. An important goal of the Child Support Program is to help families work toward, and achieve, economic security This is done through the establishment and collection of child support.
