Kalpana Barooah 91 E Welcome to the world of Kalpana Barooah 91' E, a boutique woodworking unit engaged in the manufacture of exclusive handcrafted furniture. The river Brahmaputra flowing through the city of Guwahati located at a longitude of 91.4' east, the namesake for this establishment, has served as self-taught designer and fabricator Kalpana Barooah's muse, inspiring her since the unit's inception 24 years ago. We make bespoke wooden furniture for living room, dining room, bedroom and the entire house, in addition to fulfilling special needs. Our products cover the entire range of household furniture including sofas, display units, beds, chairs, tables, desks, cupboards, etc. The style is traditional, drawing inspiration from the Tudors, Stuarts, even French and the 1930s Arts and Crafts movement. Our work also features turnery, marquetry, carving and secret compartments. Emphasis is on good quality work using mature hardwoods involving minimal use of nails, and very fine craftsmanship.
